MP4 export

Export

The default video output — widely compatible, no transparency.

H.264 in an MP4 container. It plays everywhere and every platform accepts it, which is why it is the default.

It cannot carry transparency. If your composition has transparent areas they will be filled, so anything needing an alpha channel wants WebM instead.

Try itExport · frame rate
The same movement sampled at different rates. Frame rate does not change your timing — it changes how finely the motion is measured, which is what you see as strobing.

When to reach for it#

  • Social platforms, websites, presentations — anywhere the video stands alone.

Parameters#

Resolutionresolution#

Free exports at 1080p. Freelancer and Studio export up to 4K. Exporting larger than the source artwork does not add detail.

Frame rateframerate#

30 is the safe default. 60 is noticeably smoother for fast motion and roughly doubles the file. 24 reads as filmic.

Qualitybitrate#

Higher preserves detail in grain and fast motion at the cost of size. Noisy or grainy content needs more than clean flat artwork.

Things that catch people out#

No alpha channel

Transparency is flattened. Use WebM if you need to composite the result elsewhere.

Fine grain wastes bitrate

Animated per-pixel noise is expensive to encode and can make everything else look soft. Coarser grain compresses much better.
