Parameters#
Bar, line, area, ring, donut. The type should follow the comparison you are making, not the other way round.
The values. Editable inline, and keyframable, so a bar can animate between datasets.
How the chart draws in — grow, wipe, or draw-on. Stagger it across series so the eye can follow.
Auto fits the data. Fixed keeps the axis stable across a sequence of charts, which matters when comparing them.
Things that catch people out#
Auto scale makes comparisons lie
Two charts with auto-scaled axes look comparable and are not. Fix the axis when the point is a comparison.
